Boettcher Mansion Wedding Photography Golden Colorado ~ This wedding was top notch!  A traditional Jewish wedding in the heart of Lookout Mountain in the Summer.  Sarah was such a beautiful bride, inside and out.  She couldn’t stop smiling all day and it was contagious.  Billy was the same way.  After they had their first look, we walked around the beautiful property grabbing photos as we went.  They were all about being themselves as well as having some fun with each other in front of the camera. Billy likes to take serious photos, so made sure to get one of those.  However, Sarah photobombed it with a serious face of her own.  So fun.  I think my favorite moment of the day was when we were taking family photos, and I asked Sarah’s dad to take a photo with his daughter.  Instantly he teared up and said “I hate all of this!”  Now, he didn’t mean that he didn’t want to have his daughter get married to Billy, he just couldn’t stand all the emotion he was feeling.  He was truly a fun Father of the bride and you could tell that he loves his daughter so much that it’s hard to let her go.  I laughed out loud.

In a traditional Jewish wedding, the guys go into a separate room with the Rabi as the girls go into another and visit and drink.  Once they come together, they sing, pray blessings, and after signing the Ketubah, the groom veils the bride and everyone heads to the ceremony location for the traditional Huppah ceremony.  It was so fun to capture these traditions and learn more about a culture and Religion that has not only been around since the beginning of time, but one that our current Marriage License is based off of.  After the ceremony, we enjoyed the cocktail hour as well as a traditional Jewish meal.  Now for the most exciting time of the day!  The Horah!  What a blast to witness!  Not only did the newlywed couple get tossed up in the chairs, so did their parents.  The night finished with dancing and great live music.  It truly was an honor to capture this couple’s wedding and it was also a joy to be a part of such a wonderful day!
